We get asked about this most weeks: "Do I want a wrap, or the paint protection stuff?" It's a fair question — both involve applying material to your car, both change how it looks and feels, and from a distance they can seem interchangeable. They're not. They solve different problems, and knowing which one you actually need can save you money and a bit of frustration.
A vehicle wrap is coloured or printed vinyl film applied over your car's existing paint, and its main job is appearance. That might mean a full colour change — matte, satin, gloss, chrome, whatever direction you're after — or it might mean business branding across a work van or ute, turning it into a mobile billboard.
Wraps are typically applied over the whole car or in large panels, and because they sit on top of the paint, they also offer a degree of protection against minor scratches and stone chips while they're on — though that's a side benefit, not the main point. The main point is the look: a colour, finish, or branding your paint can't give you on its own.
PPF is a different material entirely — a clear (or tinted) urethane film applied to protect your existing paint from chips, scratches, and road grime, particularly on high-impact areas like the front bumper, bonnet, mirrors, and door edges. Done well, it's virtually invisible; the goal is that your car looks exactly like it did before, just better protected.
PPF is the right call when you love your paint colour and finish and want to keep it that way for years — especially on a new car, a lease vehicle, or anything you're planning to sell down the track where original paint condition matters.
Because every vehicle, colour, coverage area, and material grade is different, we don't publish a flat price for either service — anyone who quotes you a fixed number without seeing the car is guessing. What we can tell you is that the quote is free and usually quick: send us a few photos of your vehicle and what you're after, and we'll come back with real numbers.
No pressure, no upsell — just an honest read on what's right for your vehicle.
